What is the ‘Wrapped’ Condom Distribution Service?
Wrapped is a free confidential condom distribution scheme for young people up to the age of 25. The aim of the service is to increase awareness of, access to and acceptability of using condoms. Condoms are the only contraceptive methods that protect against unwanted pregnancy and most sexually transmitted infections.
What does the service do?
As well as distributing free condoms to young people and giving them advice and education regarding practicing safe sex, the service provides training to professionals who work with young people to deliver basic sexual health advice as well as encouraging access to free condoms.
Young people are also encouraged to access b-sure and other community based sexual health services.
Who can access the service?
Anyone who is under 25 can access the service.
How are patients referred to the service?
There is no referral method for this service. Young people can access service from any of the venues listed below or by calling 01254 263 525. Potential service users can be signposted in from anyone who works with young people including healthcare professionals.
Where are patients seen?
Free condoms are available from the Contraceptive and Sexual Health Service, Brook and other places where young people go, including schools and colleges.
